@Katsura High School islocated in the southwestern part of Kyoto City.
@It was founded in 1948 (Showa the 23rd), beginning a longschool history of more than 50 years.
@Within Kyoto City limits, Katsura is the only high school that offers botha general course and an agricultural courses. In the agricultural course,horticulture (including the cultivation of flowers and vegetables) and plant culture through biotechnology are researched.
Katsura students have qualified for the All-Japan Convention of Agricultural Club Activities (FarmersfFederation of Japan) many times.
@There are 27 classes and about 1,000 students in Katsura.
@The school motto is gIndependence and Self-Control,h which means that Katsura tries to develop each student's unique personality so that they can realize their hopes for the future.

@The School Festival is held during three days in September, in which different classes compete in plays, exhibitions, and sports. Other events include , a drama day (July), a excursion (May), and a ski trip (February).
@Katsura High Schoolfs Japanese archery, badminton, and track and field teams have participated in the All-Japan Inter-High School Championships.
